Alert Level Update

Following the news that, due to Iceland's prolonged attack, I will not be flying today and taking into consideration that I am booked provisionally on to flights on Friday and Tuesday; I have reduced the Volcanic Ash Alert Level to "On Tenterhooks" in accordance with the guidelines set out by the Alarm within the Constraints of Britishness Committee (ACBC).

The levels of alert are as follows:

Nonchalant Optimism (lowest level)
I'll Put The Kettle On
On Tenterhooks
Lightly Miffed
Spirited Concern
Someone Should Really Write A Letter (highest level)

I must stress that the highest level concern should be reserved for only the most serious chaos.

Iceland Attacks Europe

Unless you've been in a hermetically sealed bubble in the Gobi Desert for the past week, you can't help but have noticed that Iceland seem to have launched an unprecedented yet rather creative attack on my travel plans. So, rather than dutifully packing my belongings ready for a year of high jinx in New Zealand, I am sat in my kitchen plotting my escape.

Since the attack's inception, my concern has gradually been building from a nonchalant optimism to a rather more spirited concern. Perhaps now is the time to implement my own post 9/11 style "Alert Level" for the unfolding situation...watch this space.
